Privacy Policy

Chess Arcanum (com.chessarcanum.cardchess) · Last updated 10 September 2026

Chess Arcanum has no accounts, no sign-in, and keeps no records of the games you play. This policy explains the little data that does move, and the one third party that receives some.

What we do not collect

The app never asks for and never receives:

There is no analytics or tracking SDK in the app, and no user profile is built or stored anywhere.

What stays on your device

DataWhy
A randomly generated display name, such as Gilded Warden 42 So the same name greets you next time. It is generated by the app from a fixed word list — it is not derived from your device name, your account, or anything about you.
A count of games finished since the last advertisement To space advertisements out.

Both live in the app's own storage on your device and are removed when you uninstall the app. Neither is transmitted anywhere except as described below.

What reaches the server during a match

Chess Arcanum is an online game, so a match runs on our server. While you are playing, the server receives your generated display name, your moves, and the identifiers of any preset phrases you send. Chat is not free text: you choose from a fixed list of phrases, and only the identifier travels, so nothing you type can ever reach another player.

The server holds a match in memory only. There is no database. A finished match is discarded about a minute after it ends, and nothing about it survives a restart of the service. Your IP address is used to carry the connection, as it must be for any internet service, and is not written to a log or retained.

Advertising

The app shows a full-screen advertisement between matches, supplied by Google AdMob. To select and measure those advertisements, Google may collect and process information from your device, including your device's advertising identifier, IP address, device and operating-system details, and general information about the advertisements you are shown. This processing is Google's, under Google's terms, not ours — we receive only aggregate earnings figures and never see data about any individual person.

You can reset or delete your advertising identifier at any time in Android under Settings → Privacy → Ads. Deleting it stops the identifier being used to personalise advertisements.

Consent in the EEA, the UK, and Switzerland

Where the law requires it, the app shows Google's consent form the first time you open it, and your choice governs whether advertisements are personalised. You can change that choice later from the same form.

Children

Chess Arcanum is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect anything from them. Because the app collects no personal information at all, there is nothing about a child for us to hold or delete.

Your rights

We hold no personal data about you, so there is no account to close and no archive to request or erase. Everything the app keeps is on your own device and disappears when you uninstall it. For anything Google holds through AdMob, use the Google links above.

Changes

If this policy changes, the revised version will be published at this address with a new date at the top. Continuing to use the app after that means the revised policy applies.
